The problem

Why "no HSN/TSN" breaks most insurers.

HSN and TSN are Germany's manufacturer and type key numbers – the IDs insurers use to classify vehicles. Imports and small-series cars registered via individual approval (Sec. 13 EG-FGV / Sec. 21 StVZO) often have none. The result:

Comparison portals: no type code, no calculation – dead end.
Traditional insurers: manual review, weeks of waiting, frequent rejection.
Wrong classification: those who do get accepted often pay inflated "exotic" surcharges.

Is there a "special eVB" for cars without HSN/TSN?

No – a "special eVB" does not exist, even though the term circulates. eVB numbers only differ by vehicle class (car, truck, motorcycle …); within a class they are all identical. What matters is an insurer that accepts and correctly classifies your vehicle without German type codes – exactly what we arrange. You receive the eVB number that fits your vehicle class and can take it to the registration office.

My car has no HSN/TSN – can it be insured normally at all?

Yes. Insurability doesn't depend on the type code but on an insurer willing to classify the car from its technical data. We work with companies that have established processes for this – at regular conditions instead of exotic surcharges.

Is full casco possible for Chinese cars?

Yes, including partial-casco modules like glass, wildlife and weather damage. Clean value documentation (purchase contract, first registration) matters – then purchase-price clauses are negotiable too.

How fast do I get the eVB?

Just tell us in the quote form which vehicle it is – you typically receive the quote within one business day; the eVB follows immediately after your confirmation.

What if I just want my VW insured more cheaply?

Happy to compare that too: run the numbers yourself at vergleich.rombey.capital – or we do it for you, conditions check included, in time for your next renewal date. The well-known 30 November deadline applies to most policies but not to all: it follows from the usual renewal date of 1 January plus the one-month notice period. If a mid-year renewal date was agreed – say 1 May or 1 September – the cancellation has to reach the insurer one month before that date instead. Your renewal date is stated in your policy; we check it for you.
