Insuring the Venucia V-Online – well known in China, unknown to the calculator
Venucia is the brand of the joint venture between Dongfeng and Nissan – in Germany it exists almost exclusively as a direct import. The V-Online is correspondingly rare in insurers' databases, and the online calculator ends with an error message. We insure the SUV at regular conditions and issue the eVB number as soon as you accept our quote.
- SUV segment
- Rated like comparable European SUVs – by power, value and segment.
- Import
- Individual approval instead of German type codes – a standard process for us.
- eVB number
- Once you are happy with the quote we issue the eVB number – digitally.
A rare brand, a familiar process
The rarer a brand is in Germany, the more reliably the comparison calculator aborts – Venucia is a textbook case. That says nothing about the risk: a vehicle is rated by power, value and segment, not by how well known it is. We handle exactly that rating manually, using the technical data from the individual approval.
We record the drivetrain exactly as the papers state it. For models without a German type approval that matters more than it would for a Golf, because there is no stored data record the insurer could fall back on. Everything we have entered comes from your registration documents, not from estimates.
The premium then follows the usual factors: no-claims class, regional class, annual mileage and driver circle. The no-claims class from your previous vehicle transfers normally, even if that car was a European model – we request it from your previous insurer.
In casco, valuation is the decisive point: for a model with no German used-car market there are no reference prices an assessor could work from in a claim. That is why we document the vehicle value from day one via purchase contract, import and registration papers – and negotiate a purchase-price clause for the first years on request.
